First attempts with Makeover Monday: Trump, traveling and equality
So I have finally found the time for the famous Makeover Monday - project by Eva Murray and Andy Kriebel, helping the community to practice their dataviz skills.

I had heard about the project long time before I have got seriously interested in dataviz and before I met Andy Kriebel at the Data school interview. I thought immediately: 'I have to try one day, seems like a lot of fun!'
Now when I have found myself in between the two Data school interviews, the timing to start with this practical exercise couldn't be better.

My first week was the 37th. Paying the president, a project of ProPublica, offered data covering governmental spending at Trump's business empire. I made a minimalist viz covering president's travelling with his own airline, especially to Florida, just before the election.
I made some basic mistakes, when I described those money spent as earned by Trump himself (and I am sure there was more).

Second attempt was the Plane vs Train viz, which covers some statistics about prices, time spent traveling etc. I have tried to use parameters in Tableau for the first time and it worked! I received really positive feedback from Andy on Twitter, which supplied me with some new energy.
Last week up to date was in collaboration with Equal Measures 2030, an organisation fighting for gender equality with data and facts. I didn't fight for gender equality as much as with the viz itself, so I kept it very simple and focused more on the 'fighters' themselves.

Now an avocado viz awaits me as well as diving deeper into recently announced longlist of the Information is Beautiful Awards (and guess what, my 102 volcanoes made it and stands next to all those beautiful and inspirational pieces!) .
