Data designer without an ispiration

It probably happens in every creative job. Today I intended to spend the whole day by creating my final project for a visualisation course. At the end I spend the whole day by forcing myself back to work after a hundreds of dead ends. 

Every time I picked a topic, it wasn't enough. After couple of "not the right ones" I have decided to just pick kind of whatever was on the table and make the best out of it. Alright, but where should I start now?

All the sketches I made - quite unsatisfying. I literally spend like 6 hours by getting data about Venezuela and its troubles to finish with London crime report data. Alright then, here's the sad all day work.
